Campus Bookstore Alternative - Bucks4Books - Opens Doors in Rochester

New Textbook Sell Back Store Supports Rochester Education Foundation during Grand Opening

Rochester, New York, May 8, 2008 - Rochester area college campus bookstores will now have some friendly competition - Bucks4Books has opened a textbook sell back hub at 1455 E. Henrietta Road next to the King & I Restaurant in Rochester. Bucks4Books hopes to make its mark with MCC, RIT, U of R, Nazareth and St. John Fisher students with a refreshing book sell back experience that features immediate cash for every book sold back, less hassle, a bright clean store, and a donation and book drive to support local literacy programs to boot.

The Rochester location is the six-year-old company's first store in Rochester. Bucks4Books, first known as Valore Books, was started by a group of State University of New York students who saw an opportunity to offer dorm-mates more cash and a faster alternative to book store lines. The group now operates four sell-back hubs in Fredonia and Buffalo, and two in Utah.

"We were all students not very long ago, and we know what they want - a fair sell-back experience that puts cash in their hands at the point of transaction," says Gareth Leonard, Bucks4Books marketing director. "So we built our business on some simple principles - we try to match or beat any competitor's prices, we don't care where the students bought their books, and we offer a friendly store atmosphere with great service.

"Some campus bookstores offer special sell-back incentives, but often the books had to be purchased at that campus bookstore," adds Leonard. "Bucks4Books, on the other hand, consistently provides a fair sell-back price no matter where books were purchased."

Bucks4Books is also committed to giving back to the community and will donate a percentage of all its book sell-backs during the Rochester grand opening from May 12 - June 1, to the Rochester Education Foundation. The Non-Profit is an independent organization whose mission is to provide resources to improve learning and success for all Rochester city public school students. Bucks4Books is also encouraging the public to drop off unwanted books in recycling bins at the Rochester store which will be donated to other national literacy programs.
